Organisation Description:
VANWODS Microfinance is well established organization providing microcredit and saving services to over seven thousand women in Efate, Santo, Malekula and Tanna.
Job Desctiption:
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for executing the strategic direction approved by the Board of Trustees. The CEO provides overall direction to the organization and ensures maximum outreach, sustainability, and effectiveness of the organization's operations. The CEO is also responsible for establishing strategic partnerships with like-minded institutions and funding agencies. The CEO also provides expertise, information, advice and counsel concerning the affairs of the organization to the Board of Trustees to ensure accountability to all stakeholders. Finally, the CEO develops and recommends organizational policies as well as short-term and long-term business plans for Board approval and implementation.
Selection Criteria:
Preferred Education
University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related discipline.
Master's degree desirable.
Preferred Experience
At least five (5) years' experience in management role, management of financial or development institutions.
Other Qualities, Knowledge and Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication ability in English and Bislama required (ability in French is a plus)
• Thorough knowledge in analyzing financial and operational reports
• Highly capable of relating with different sectors of society
• Extensive social contacts and strong ability in establishing organizational linkages
• Commitment to promoting financial inclusion and business development for the marginalized sector
