Job Desctiption:

BRED (Vanuatu) Limited is part of the second largest banking group in France, "Banque Populaire", which also has regional outlets in New Caledonia, Tahiti, Vanuatu, Fiji and Solomon Islands.  An opportunity is available for a suitably experienced and qualified FINANCE OFFICER to be based in Port Vila.  
Reporting to Assistant Financial Controller and working closely Supervisor – Reconciliation, this position is established to process and issue payments in addition to processing and reconciling various accounts.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
(a) Financial
• Take care of bookkeeping, processing and administration of invoices and accounting documents.
• Performing daily transactions such as verifying, calculating and processing payments.
• Assist in processing correct entries for bank account and payments etc.
• Ensure compliance with regulations (internal and external) for procurement of goods and services and record-keeping.

(b) Reconciliation
• Prepare and reconcile accounts daily/weekly/monthly basis.
• General ledgers and bank accounts reconciliations.
• Process the clearance of pending/outstanding entries with respective officers internally.
• Assist Supervisor Reconciliation officer on others responsibilities.

 

Selection Criteria:

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
• Tertiary qualification – Minimum requirement:  Tertiary Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field from a credible tertiary institution;
• Experience – minimum of 2 years of experience in a role very similar to the functions outlined above;
• Essential – high proficiency in the use of software systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Flexcube;
• Fluent in English but being bi-lingual would be an advantage;
• Approachable personality, team player and comfortable working as part of a diverse and multicultural financial or banking organization.

 

Salary:

Remuneration package is negotiable
