Job Desctiption:
The Vanuatu National Statistics Office, Ministry of Finance & Economic Management (MFEM) is seeking to recruit a qualified Data Analysis Advisor (the "Advisor") on a short-term basis of 5 months. The consulting services provided under this assignment will enable VNSO staff to regularly disseminate statistical information that meets user's requirements.
Selection Criteria:
• To ensure the VNSO has the institutional capacity through an 'in-house' training programme so that staff can develop, produce and disseminate timely and quality census and survey statistics, as well as NSDP indicators;
• To support the Census and Survey Section develop and finalise the NSDP survey and 2020 Census 'analytical outputs;
• To work with Census and Survey Section to develop and finalise VNSO in-house training materials, facilitator guides and other tools to strengthen VNSO in-house capacity development function;
• As a technical advisor in this position, training, mentoring and advice is required to be provided to necessitate skills transfer to the local counter parts;
• As technical advisor with working knowledge of the Vanuatu NSDS, the advisor is required to review and revise priorities and assist with implementation and achieving intended results;
• Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and travel restrictions, the Advisor could be requested by the Government Statistician to provide broader support to the VNSO, including liaising with technical partners, and supporting the VNSO senior management team.
