Job Desctiption:
Responsibilities and tasks
Financial
• Make daily entries into Xero financial system
• Ensure reconciliation and other accounting standards are maintained
• Monitor and control budgets
• Develop monthly operational budgets
• Manage petty cash, payment of outstanding bills, and issue invoices
• Prepare and present regular monthly reports
• Provide advice to Executive Director on Sista's financial performance
• Monitor cash balances and financial forecasts
• Prepare donor funded program budget acquittals
• Perform other bookkeeping duties, as required
Operations
• Participate in key decisions by providing executive management team with critical financial information
• Maintain the effective financial operations of Sista according to organizational policies and procedures
• Follow and implement operational best practices
• Take on other assignments as given by management
Planning:
• Assist Sista's financial planning and goal achievement through advising Executive Director through financial reporting and advice
• Monitor and advise on the implementation of program budgets
Selection Criteria:
● Minimum of three years' experience in bookkeeping, prefer in non-governmental organisations
● Diploma in Accounting or similar field
● Experience using Xero software
● Proven numeracy and financial analysis / planning skills
● Experience use financial tracking systems, XERO accounting system preferred
● Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize activities in a fast moving office
● Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
