Catalpa has been awarded a grant by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade to develop and implement a Science e-Learning Program me across four Pacific Island countries; Cook Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.
The programme will be rolled out in close collaboration with the ministries of education in each country as well as the University of the South Pacific. We have experience rolling out similar programmes in Timor-Leste, Myanmar, and Solomon Islands, and we are thrilled to work with new partners using our best practice approaches and EdTech tools.
Catalpa brings together people from unique backgrounds to work together on meaningful projects — e-learning specialists, engineers, designers, education economists, public health researchers, nutritionists, international development practitioners, and operations personnel.
Job Desctiption:
The goal of the programme is to help year 10 students to be confident, critical thinkers in science and system-level actors to effectively support teaching and learning through ICTs.
We are seeking to hire smart, passionate, dedicated people in locally-based positions to join our team.
Selection Criteria:
Desired skills:
• Proven ability in support for ICT applications, preferably in the Education sector;
• Ability to support mobile phone applications and the Android Operating System
• Experience in supporting wired and wireless local area network communications
• Understanding of internet communications, including routing and switching
• An understanding of school infrastructure that supports teaching and learning including audio & video equipment, digital projectors and instructional technologies
• Ability to balance the wants and needs of many stakeholders;
• Good oral and written skills in English; and
• Enjoys working collaboratively and is open to regular feedback.
