Job Desctiption:

The Club Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction and participates in the planning and implementation for both long and short-term business and strategic plans related to the overall facility growth and success. The position serves to provide input to the design, planning and construction, and liaison with the master plan and operations. The Club Manager, in conjunction with the President / Vice President and Committee will set the fundamental goals of the facility and establish priorities in terms of its basic objectives, ensuring alignment with overall Port Vila Golf and Country Club objectives.

 

Selection Criteria:

• High level of understanding of MYOB essential.
• Good understanding of accounting concepts to enable understanding of financial reports generated each month.
• Hold a credited high school or university degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education in the golfing /hospitality industry.
• Have a valid Vanuatu permanent residency or Passport.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing golf club or similar facility
• An extensive working background of all operations related to the Club including but not limited to administrative, maintenance, financial and personnel matters.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, members, suppliers and the general public.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service skills in dealing with members and the public
• Must demonstrate initiative—ability to think, work, and make independent decisions, based on sound judgment.
• Must be comfortable working in an environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• Knowledge and passionate about golf a distinct advantage.
• Hold a valid driver's licence.

Salary:

Full renumeration will be commensurate with Qualifications and Experience, range to be expected 300,000 to 500,000 VT /per month

• Leads the formulation, interpretation, and communication of the overall direction, long-range vision and strategic guidelines, and ensures liaison between the overall strategic direction of Port Vila Golf and Country Club with the strategic direction of the facility. • Lead the development and update of the five-year plan and annual business plan review for the facility. • Participates in the review and preparation prior to monthly financial reports, and is actively involved in these reports. • Responsible for the facility's weekly financial performance tracking, analysis and response, with focus on long-term and short-term performance and long term cost control programs. • Performs site inspections of the facility and implements procedures to improve course presentation • Fosters, develops and maintains effective working relationships with such external influences on the facility's operations as major sponsors: suppliers: Municipal, Council, Custom Land owners  • Must be proactive in developing long range plans to facilitate the continual delivery of exceptional services to the sponsors and membership alike • Participates in the review of marketing/branding strategies and implementation for the facility, and reviews the annual marketing plan. • Participates in the formulation of pricing/policy for the various revenue streams, green fees, memberships, and any other matters that relate to facility operations. • Other duties as assigned.  PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: • Must be highly customer oriented and responsive with high need for closure. • Able to work under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments. • Strong team-building skills including the ability to lead, cooperate, and motivate. • Must be role model to employees.  • Honesty and Integrity. • Respect for the Individual. • Teamwork. • Competitive Spirit.
