Organisation Description
|
The Vanuatu Fisheries
Department (VFD) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry,
Fisheries and Biosecurity wishes to advertise the position of Community-Based
Fisheries Management Officer. This person will be recruited under the VFD’s
Pathways Project which is funded by the Australian Government. The
field-intensive position is for two years starting in April 2019 to April
2021.

will require frequent flying to project sites.

Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria
a) Qualification Degree in Marine Science, Marine Affairs, Environmental Studies or similar b) Experience Experience with fisheries data collection, management, and documentation c) Thinking style Open minded, creative, practical and always strife for excellence d) Special skills • Good knowledge of community management issues, basic fisheries knowledge • Good knowledge of community engagement processes • Project administration, supervision, monitoring and reporting skills • Able to develop solutions to problems and deliver tangible outcomes • Sound IT skills - proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Able to create project work plans and budgets e) Behaviour Punctual, respectful, honest, proactive, cooperative, supportive, trustworthy, committed, able to work under pressure, able to travel to rural areas for long periods of time f) Language English, French, Bislama |

PS 5.1 (Vt 1,513,000 per
annum with allowances)
