Criteria:
Knowledge
& Experience
- Formal
administration qualifications or relevant, equivalent experience, in a similar
position/s
- Demonstrated
experience supporting of international programs, preferably in a development
context, including administration, finance and information management
- A high
level of cross-cultural awareness as well as some understanding of the
challenges faced when working in an international development context
- Strong
knowledge of international development issues and challenges and an in-depth
understanding of the history, culture and political system of Vanuatu
- Sound
knowledge of, and commitment to the underpinning values, goals and objectives
of the Australian Volunteers Program (AVP)
- Understanding
of and commitment to AVI’s Vision and Values, EEO, OH&S, Child Protection
and privacy principles.
Skills
& Attributes
- A high
level of competency and accuracy in word processing, spreadsheets, and
presentation packages
- Excellent
organisational and time management skills including the ability to take
initiative, be flexible in work practices, set priorities, meet deadlines and
achieve objectives
- Good
interpersonal communication skills, especially the capacity to maintain open
and constructive communications with a wide range of stakeholders in an
international context
- Proven
people management skills, coupled with an empathic approach and the ability to
effectively and efficiently respond to a diverse range of people issues
- Fluency
in both written and spoken English
- Ability
to take initiative and propose practical solutions for ongoing systems
improvement
- Demonstrated
ability to work effectively as a team member.
