The Vanuatu Monitoring, Evaluation and Research team is seeking Ni-Vanuatu Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Survey staff for short-term consulting work.

The Vanuatu Monitoring, Evaluation and Research team is a Vanuatu team of experienced professionals working on aid and development projects. We conduct 

  • research activities such as: surveys, consultations, focus groups and case studies
  • monitoring and evaluation activities such as reflection workshops, participatory evaluation activities, and interviews
  • logistics for agency evaluation and monitoring missions and 
  • locally staffed evaluations within Vanuatu.
VMER are looking for experienced, capable, reliable members to expand our existing team of Ni-Van M+E consultants. Note, this is not a full-time position - as a consultant you will go on the register to be contacted when research opportunities arise, and will be paid at very competitive consultant daily rates. We are interested in consultants located in any of the islands of Vanuatu.

Criteria:
We’re seeking people with a range of experience to join the team. Selection criteria includes:
Essential:
  • Experience in monitoring, or evaluation, or research activities, or survey administration 
  • Committed and professional in your approach to work 
  • Honest and able to manage sums of money for expenses, and collect and record receipts for all expenditure 
  • Reliable 
  • Available to take on short-term contracts between November 2017 and March 2018 (availability to be reviewed every 6 months) 
  • Contactable by phone Mondays to Friday 
  • Willing to sign a Child Protection Code of Conduct, and to provide a Police Clearance certificate 
  • Able to access email at least once per week 
  • Either English or French speaking, and must speak and write Bislama fluently
Desirable:
  • Able to travel to other islands as needed
  • Experience in organising transport between communities and meeting schedules 
  • We are also looking to increase our report writing team. If you have experience in writing long documents or reports or assignments in English, please also note this, and provide a sample of your writing 
  • We are also looking for people with experience in infographics and statistical analysis. If you have experience or training in these areas, please detail your experience/training and provide samples.
