Job Description:
The Vanuatu Basketball Federation is looking for a National Basketball Development Officer for a 4 year contract to develop basketball in Vanuatu.
The applicant must:
Prepare a calendar of annual basketball competitions for adults and students
Organise and run multiple 3x3 tournaments throughout the year
Organise and run basketball championships yearly (3x3 and 5x5)
Conduct a program of activities in schools
Conduct after school and weekend competitions
Keep details of numbers of players
Give a detailed monthly report of player numbers to the VBF and FIBA
Give a detailed monthly report of activities/clinics to the VBF and FIBA
Promote basketball in the outer islands and provinces
Assist with the securing of sponsors
Assist with the activities of the H4H Program
Be able to communicate in English or French and Bislama.
Criteria:
The applicant should:
Be knowledgeable about the rules and game of basketball
Play to a reasonable level
Be able to teach drills and run activities with children and young adults
Be proficient in administration work.
