The
Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is the national governing body for the game
of cricket in Vanuatu and one of the country’s leading sporting organization.
The association is now welcoming applications for the position of Sanma Cricket
Development Officer based in Luganvlle, Santo.
The
Sanma Cricket Development Officer is responsible for the operation of all
cricket activities in Samma Province.
Duties
& Responsibilities
- Reports
to the Administration Officer
- Increase participation in schools &
communities throughout Luganville, Santo and Sanma
- Implement education and training
strategies for schools by conducting teacher in-service training. Follow up on
all teachers by assisting them on running cricket clinics in schools
- Working with the Training &
Education officer assist with producing coaching, scoring and umpiring
resources for teachers
- Conduct cricket development clinics
within the VCA Outreach program including in schools, Primary School Sports
Associations and Secondary School Sports Associations
- Conduct Cricket camps
- Conduct Cricket I Blong Evriwan
programs
- Assist with the coaching and
umpiring of junior and senior competitions
- Work with Vanuatu Cricket
Development Officers to improve the community cricket programs
- Assist with data and statistics
input into a database
- Write regular press releases and
send to the media officer
- Provide regular updates to the
Vanuatu Cricket Office
- Identify junior talent and submit
to Vanuatu Cricket
- Assist with the implementation of
Women’s cricket
- Carry out promotion activities
with/for VCA sponsors
- Other duties as required by Vanuatu
Cricket General Manager and Board.
Criteria:
- Be committed to working with and helping
children, women, the disabled and all other new cricket participants
- Have an understanding of the game of
cricket
- Be willing to work towards becoming a
Level 1 and then Level 2 cricket coach
- Be able to write schedules that do not
clash with other activities
- Be able to roster Assistant Development
Officer to carry out tasks
- Be able to communicate rosters and
schedules to everyone involved
- Have knowledge and understanding of
basic computer skills
- Strive for excellence in the work place
- Show initiative by organising tasks
without being told to from the Port Vila Office
- Be prepared to talk with other Vanuatu
Cricket staff about new ideas and what Vanuatu Cricket is doing
- Be prepared to be a role model for all
cricket players and Vanuatu Cricket Rostered Development Officers
- Ability
to uphold the Spirit of Cricket
- Ability
to uphold the ICC and VCA Code of Conduct
- Ability
to adhere to the Anti-Racism, Anti-Doping, Anti-Corruption and Child Protection
Policies of the VCA and ICC.
