The
Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) is the national governing body for the game
of cricket in Vanuatu and one of the country’s leading sporting organisations.
The association is now welcoming applications for the position of Development
Supervisor based in the nation’s capital, Port Vila.
The
Development Supervisor oversees Vanuatu’s award winning cricket development
program by working with the VCA development team to promote and manage cricket
so that the cricket infrastructure (schools, clubs, development officers,
cricket ambassadors, coaches, volunteers, administrators, local and national
government bodies) is of the highest quality with the cricket experience being
positive for all participants and cricket in Vanuatu prospers with sustainable
participation growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan
the development activities of Vanuatu Cricket for the new year
- Write
and regularly check the schedule for all development activities
- Roster
all Development Officers to running all scheduled development activities
- Make
sure that all Development Officers are working as written in their job
descriptions
- Ensure
all Development Officers provide written planned activities prior to an event
- Ensure
that all contacts at all schools and communities are aware of development
activities that shall be held
- Ensure
that transport and equipment are organised for all scheduled development
activities
- Oversee
the planning, operation and review of all development activities as required
- Work
with the Media Officer to write regular press releases about Vanuatu Cricket’s development
activities
- Conduct
a weekly development staff meeting
- Organise
and facilitate all Port Vila school competitions
- Develop
a personal development program for development officers and ensure it’s
effective implementation
- Ensure
all school competition scorecards are entered into CricHQ
- Ensure
that grounds are marked, stumps/bails, score books, stationery, scoreboards and
balls are organised prior to competition
- Ensure
that there are umpires and scorers rostered on for each match of the school competitions
- Ensure
that the Vanuatu CricHQ website is regularly updated and liaise with CricHQ on
behalf of the Vanuatu Cricket Association
- Assist
schools with team trainings prior to competitions
- Carry
out promotion activities with/for Vanuatu Cricket sponsors
- Prepare
and submit monthly reports to the General Manager and Board
- Other
duties as required by Vanuatu Cricket General Manager and Board.
