The
Vanuatu Tourism Ambassadors Program aims to create a positive first impression
for tourists by providing training programs to improve customer service skills
and increase quality standards in the public transport sector. VSTAP, in
partnership with the Dept. of Tourism, the Public Land Transport Authority
(PLTA), the Taxi Associations and the Vanuatu Tourism Office, is seeking the
services of a Senior Officer to assist in the implementation of this program.
The
Senior Officer for the Taxi Ambassador Program will be based at the Dept. of
Tourism in Port Vila under a 2 year contract and will work under the
supervision of the Principal Accreditation Officer to coordinate and implement the
following activities:
- Implement the Taxi Ambassador program as
designed
- Coordinate all training sessions and
logistics
- Organise and implement Taxi
qualifications and delivery of tourism
permits
- Organise and participate in the Public
Transport Working Group
- Actively contribute to communication
with the public transport industry
- Assist the TA’s, HTLTC and VQA in course
development and pilot delivery
- Account
for all financial and administration transactions.
Criteria:
The
Essential Requirements for this Position are:
- Recognised Bachelor’s Degree qualification,
ideally in the Tourism or Business sector
- At least 3 years proven experience in a
Coordinator’s or Project Officer’s role in the Vanuatu Tourism, Transport or
Business private sector
- Excellent communication skills, both
written and oral
- Competency in the use of MS Word, MS
Excel, MS Powerpoint, email and the Internet
- Must
be a Ni-Vanuatu citizen.
