Job Description: The Department of Livestock in collaboration with DSPPAC with the implementation of the TC Pam Recovery Projects is seeking to contract a locally based communication consultant for a period of 60 days. The Communication consultant will assist in developing communication tools to enable the Department to outreach its key messages relevant for sustainable livestock production to farmers and stakeholders through the provinces and the country as a whole. Scope This Communications Consultant will work directly with the Department of Livestock to develop communication messages and information for farmers and other stakeholders. Project related duties Develop and design with technical officer’s animal husbandry information (DL Flyers) Update and promote livestock Facebook Pages Write articles for newspaper on animal welfare Develop radio advertisement for destock and restocking Develop EOI for restocking program.

Criteria: 

Essential Qualification

• A university degree in communication or relative field or
• Minimum 3 years’ experience communications role
• Experience in communication programme related to agriculture sector is desirable
• Good understanding of the Vanuatu’s livestock sector
• Demonstrated ability to work with a multi-sector team and to interact with stakeholders of different background (communities, provincial offices, NGOs. Private sector and government agencies)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, Bislama and/or French.
