Job Description:
The Shefa Provincial Council wishes to recruit a suitable
person to fill in the position mentioned above and to coordinate activities
related to Youth and Sport throughout the SHEFA Province.
Responsibilities:
- Help
youth with projects for income generation such as agricultural activities,
finding employment, starting businesses, participating in service to the community,
get involved in the Church activities within all youth groupings
- Establish
youth groups in each Area to then coordinate other activities for the youth
groups including; teach youth how to raise animals, teach youth on how to plant crops,
participation in youth camps
- Develop
economic activity program to sustain all youth groupings
- Teach
youth all aspects of community participation and their roles and
responsibilities as part of the community
- Educate
youth on social topics such as keeping healthy, drug use, smoking, positive
aspects of being involved in sport and recreation
- Teach
youth to discuss and plan their life goals
- Encourage
all people to be involved in sport by setting up sports leagues, designing
sports programmes to meet all the differing needs of the community and
encourage participation
- Teach
sport for fun and participation for good health
- Set up competitive leagues
- Help
establish the clubs including coaches, administration and funding
- Help
all types of sport clubs look for funding
- Encourage
all youth to participate through the various competitive levels through
participating in their communities, schools, areas and right up to the
professional level if they are able
- To
ensure that all different sports leagues are registered by the Province prior
to starting so they become Provincially recognized
- Organise the Area Sports competitions for all types of sport
- Help committees of all sport to select SHEFA representatives to compete into National Leagues
- Attend meetings, sport events and training all over Vanuatu and sometime in other counties.

Criteria:
- Experience with a variety of sport
- Experience with working with youth
- Preferably has studied and has experience in related fields
- At least 5 years working experience
- A very good communicator and leader
- Computer literate
- Able to travel as required.
