Job Description: The VSPD was set up in 1986 to support people with disabilities to participate as fully as possible in community life.  Its services are therefore focused on early intervention for children, community rehabilitation for adults and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. Our office is located in Nambatu, Port Vila. Our work is largely community-based, with 8 early intervention classes run from community halls each week, and client visits conducted daily with both children and adults.  The Vanuatu Society for People with Disability (VSPD) is looking for a disability field worker to help us run our Outreach Program in Port Vila and Efate. The Outreach Program involves field workers visiting people with disabilities in their homes and communities. Field workers assess what clients need and help to provide them with appropriate equipment and support. Responsibilities Assess client abilities and needs Make goals with clients and families Assist in providing appropriate equipment and education to clients based on their needs Write reports and plans in line with VSPD policies Work with VSPD staff to plan programs Communicate well with VSPD staff, clients and their families, and community members Follow VSPD policies and procedures including the code of conduct and child protection policy Attend, participate and contribute to staff meetings

Criteria: Key Skills Experience in disability, education, health, or community services Excellent written and verbal communications skills Basic computer skills Ability to work well within a team and with community members Fluency in Bislama, Advanced English or French Excellent organisational and time management skills Training and support will be provided to new staff.
