Job Description:
The Technical Adviser will support the local programs by working
closely with his/her counterpart, the Vanuatu Local Project’s Manager. This is
a support role, to fill capacity gaps as they are required in areas of report
editing, proposal development, M&E and stakeholder liaison.
The Technical Advisor will also support the Live & Learn Vanuatu
Management Team with problem solving as requested by management. Some key tasks
may be the strengthening of the LLV Board and organisational data management.
This position is ideal for a Vila-based person who is keen to share
their experience, to be engaged in exciting and innovative community work but
is not seeking the pressures of organisational management

Criteria Qualification and Experience:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g. social sciences,
public health, policy, business, management etc.), preferably at Master’s
Degree level
- At least eight years’ experience in relevant work, preferably in
community-development, research, or management/administrative areas, including
in developing & implementing tools and processes.
Core Skills:
- Strong
knowledge of communications, monitoring and evaluation processes
- Understanding of principles and practice of team
performance and management
- Fluent
Bislama, some French ideal and professional oral and written English
- Understanding
of organizational policy development and implementation
- Leadership
and mentoring skills: able to support, motivate and liaise effectively
- Must
have sound cross-cultural, gender-awareness, interpersonal and networking
skills within the Vanuatu context.
