Job Description:
The WASH Supervisor will be responsible for implementing the VRCS/ARC WASH (Water,
Sanitation
and Hygiene)
program as outlined in the One Recovery Plan, with a specific focus on West
Tanna, Paama and the Informal Settlements (Efate). This role must lead a community development model for
WASH recovery encompassing strong community participation and establishing
behaviour change through an integrated public health approach, whilst
supporting every opportunity for water and sanitation capacity building within
the communities.
A key element
of this position is managing three recovery positions (Health/WASH Officer,
Paama Coordinator & West Tanna Coordinator) in the project’s
implementation. This will entail providing technical water and sanitation
advice on the design, siting, construction and maintenance of WASH infrastructure,
as well as education and promotion of safe hygiene and sanitation practices and
engagement with relevant WASH stakeholders in Vanuatu.
The position will be based in Port Vila,
Vanuatu, and is offered as a fixed term contract with the period of employment
being from April 2016 until the end of September 2017. Appointment to this
position will be subject to a mandatory probationary period of 3 months.
