Job Description: 
Luganville Municipal Council wishes to recruit a Town Planner to be responsible for proper management and orderly development carried out within the Luganville Municipal Council boundary.

        Criteria: 
        Any person interested must meet the following criteria:
        • Acquired Town Planning qualification from a recognized institution or university
        • Maximum experience of 5 years at a recognized company or at a local or national government level
        • Able to receive and register building & development applications and make presentations at Planning Commission meetings and other related meetings
        • Knowledgeable in climate change and disaster risk reduction issues
        • Able to carry out preliminary assessment study (PEA) on projects to determine whether an EIA report is required
        • Able to monitor all developments to ensure their compliance to relevant planning legislation
        • Able to give sound advice to potential developers regarding development
        • Able to enforce the Physical Planning Act (Cap193) and Luganville zoning plan
        • Able to control or prevent unauthorized development and informal settlements
        • Possess good verbal and written communication skills
        • Be computer literate.
