The Disability Promotion and Advocacy
Association seeks a part-time ICT and Disability Project Officer for six months
to be located in Port Vila.
The Disability Promotion and Advocacy Association is participating in a pilot
project on promoting increased accessibility to the Internet and mobile phones
for people with disability. The project is supported by the International
Telecommunications Union and funded by the Australian Government. The Vanuatu
Government, through the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer
(OGCIO) and the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Regulator (TRR) are
partners in the project together with the Pacific Disability Forum.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Survey administration
- Co-development of training materials
- Co-delivery of training in disability awareness
- Development and dissemination of information
- Other relevant duties.
Criteria:
- Excellent computer skills (Internet, Word,
Powerpoint etc)
- Knowledge of or ability to learn new technologies
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Proactive nature
- Interest in sharing skills and learning from others
- Fluent oral and written English and Bislama
- Experience in working with persons with disabilities or issues concerning them.
