works within three program areas in PNG: Gender Justice, Sustainable
Livelihoods, and Water, Hygiene and Sanitation. As a humanitarian organisation
Oxfam has a standing mandate to respond to disasters within all of the
countries in which it operates.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the
implementation of the ending gender-based and sorcery related violence project,
ensuring its quality and consistency
- Work with the program
officers to ensure that partners have the necessary minimum project planning
documentation in place. This includes but is not restricted to log frames,
activity plans, budgets, MEL frameworks and implementation strategies
- Support the Gender
Justice Program Manager to explore and build strategic connections with key
stakeholders nationally, in support of the Oxfam Gender Justice Program, and
oversee the technical inputs sourced externally
- Take a lead role in
developing staff and partners’ understanding of gender concepts related to how
best to prevent and respond the gender-based violence
- Contribute to develop
and improve the project MEL framework, and its monitoring system.
Criteria:
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in a
relevant field e.g. social science, gender or international development and/or comparable professional experience
- Relevant experience
in developing, designing, implementing and monitoring activities towards the
elimination of gender-based and sorcery related violence
- Sound understanding
of theory related to gender-based and sorcery related violence, and skills in
applying these to program and strategy development
- Experience of
developing and strengthening partners’ capacity, for example on data collection
and gender concepts.
