A new exciting opportunity exists within the Ministry of Climate Change to be a member of a dynamic team who is responsible for driving the whole-of-government strategic agenda for climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction.
The Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Policy and Planning Officer of the NAB is responsible for providing technical advice, coordinating the process of designing CV/DRR Policy and Planning Officer will maintain strong relationship with a diverse range of stakeholders that are important collaborators in the NAB's efforts, most notably at the national, regional and international level and represent as appropriate Vanuatu at regional and international fora.
The Successful applicant will possess:
Criteria:
- At least a Master's Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- At least 3-5 years experience working within the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Sector
- At least 3-5 years in research, report writing, consultation and liaison, policy development, project management
- Strong strategic, analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Advance research skills
- Experienced in policy related issues
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Ability to work under pressure and work independently
- English and Bislama, French an advantage.
