About the Utilities
Regulatory Authority
The
URA was established under the Utilities Regulatory Authority Act No. 11 of
2007. The Authority acts
independently of the Government and its primary purpose is to increase access
to safe, reliable and affordable electricity and water services, and to promote
the long-term interests of consumers throughout Vanuatu. In addition, the
Authority assists to resolve consumer
complaints and disputes and advises the Government on matters related to
electricity and water.
The Utilities Regulatory Authority (“the URA”) is seeking to procure a
Consultant in Electricity Network Safety - utility regulation
The URA is seeking to procure a Consultant who specialises
in Electricity Network Safety. The Consultant will work closely with the URA
designated technical personnel to achieve the following milestones:
- To develop Electricity Network Safety Guidelines for Vanuatu;
- To develop a process by
which a Safety inspection is to be undertaken in accordance with standards
identified in this Guidelines; and
- To develop a mechanism for
enforcing the standards defined by the Electricity Network Safety Guidelines.
