Job Description: |
The Government of Vanuatu, through the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, Commerce and Ni-Vanuatu Business (MTTCNVB), has secured assistance from the “Enhanced Integrated Framework” for promoting trade mainstreaming in Vanuatu. The project includes funding for the position of a National Trade Adviser, who will assist the MTTCNVB’s Director General with the overall coordination of the Ministry’s Trade Mainstreaming Agenda, including implementation of Vanuatu’s trade policy, institutional strengthening of trade-related institutions, including the National Trade Development Committee (NTDC), and oversight of Aid-for-Trade projects managed by the MTTCNVB. The contract will be for a two-year period |
Criteria: |
Applicants must: • hold a bachelor or master degree in economics, development studies, or related disciplines; • have at least 5 years of work relevant experience. Experience with providing lead technical advice in the areas of trade policy, institutional strengthening of trade institutions, and aid-for-trade management would be a distinct advantage; • have excellent written and verbal communication skills; • have proficiency in working with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel • be fluent in English; this is necessary due to the high degree of contact with external donor partners. |
Salary: |
The annual salary for the position is VUV 5,000,000, with monthly payments. |
