Job Description:
The Officer of the Chief Trade Adviser (OCTA) seeks to recruit a suitably qualified and experience person for the position of Trade Policy Officer. This is a one year contract position with a possibilities for extension subject to satisfactory performance. This position is open to suitably qualified candidates of all nationalities.
The Trade Policy Officer will support the OCTA in providing high quality policy advice to the FICs related to the PACER Plus negotiations, which includes, for example, background research, support in preparation of meeting, support in formulating negotiation positions and capacity building activities.
Criteria:
- Applicants must have a degree, preferably a Master's degree or equivalent in economics, law (preferably related to international trade law), or a related discipline from a recognized academic institution
- Expected to have a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in a national administration, a regional or international organization, academia or private sector.
