| SCA in Vanuatu Program aims to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in the areas of health and well-being, child rights and child protection. We advocate on behalf of children and promote the rights of the child. |
| Key Purpose of these positions |
| The overall goal of the Save the Children Vanuatu “Healthy Babies, Healthy Teens” (HBHT) project is to improve Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) in target areas through the following strategies: |
| • Improve RMNCH knowledge, attitudes and practices among mothers and community members |
| • Increase access to, and quality of RMNCH services at health facilities for pregnant women, mothers and children |
| • Improve nutrition of pregnant mothers and children 0-2 years of age |
| • Investigate and document the issue of teenage pregnancy. |

| The key roles of the Clinical Capacity Officers will be to: |
| • Provide ongoing supportive supervision, mentoring and coaching for health facility staff to ensure quality client centred Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) services, particularly for pregnant teens and teenage mothers. |
| • Contribute to general health facility planning and the Annual Operational Planning Review process. |
| • Support the development of outreach plans, and support health facility outreach activities in communities |
| • Support the strategic development and operationalization of the referral system. |
| • Train and support health facility staff to utilize the Health Information System. |

| Criteria: |
| • 5 years verifiable work experience in nursing and/or midwifery . |
| • Prior experience as trainer or supervisor, providing support and capacity building to health staff. |
| • In-depth knowledge and understanding of RMNCH challenges and opportunities in Vanuatu. |
| • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills . |
| • Fluent in English and Bislama. |
| • Familiarity with national RMCNH standards and protocols. |
| • Commitment to work in remote areas and stay overnight in communities . |
| • Good computer skills, especially in MS Excel and Word, and familiarity with using the internet to access resources. |
