| SCA in Vanuatu Program aims to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in the areas of health and well-being, child rights and child protection. We advocate on behalf of children and promote the rights of the child. |
| Key Purpose of these position; |
| The overall goal of the Save the Children Vanuatu “Healthy Babies, Healthy Teens” (HBHT) project is to improve Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH) in target areas through the following strategies: |
| • Improve RMNCH knowledge, attitudes and practices among mothers and community members |
| • Increase access to, and quality of RMNCH services at health facilities for pregnant women, mothers and children |
| • Improve nutrition of pregnant mothers and children 0-2 years of age |
| • Investigate and document the issue of teenage pregnancy. |
| |
| The key roles of the Island Coordinators will be to: |
| • Manage all Save the Children projects implemented in the designated island/ province. |
| • Ensure program activities are being implemented to a high standard, and according to work plans. |
| • Manage senior project staff in their respective islands, and provide leadership and mentoring to these staff to ensure projects are effective and achieving quality outcomes for children. |

| Criteria: |
| • Ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and outside the organization, including community leaders and government officials. |
| • Experience in staff/ personnel management including mentoring and staff development. |
| • Demonstrates the ability to plan and organize self and others to ensure the timely completion of tasks while working in a fast paced environment and to strict deadlines. |
| • Displays well developed verbal and written communication skills in both Bislama and English. |
| • Previous work experience in the NGO/ community sector . |
| • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. |
| • Graduate level qualifications in Development (or related area) or equivalent work experience . |
