Job Description:
Our client supports three partners in Vanuatu to deliver two development program;
1. The Pacific Island Communities Climate Risk Reduction program (PCCCRR)
2. The Vanuatu Church Partnership Project (VCCP)

We are looking for a locally based Project Manager to fill this short term contract position, starting as soon as possible. The assignment will be of a very practical nature.

A detailed work-plan is currently being prepared in consultation with partners, and will include outputs for the following activities:
    • Providing project management guidance to the PCCCRR Project Coordinator
    • Supporting the PCCCRR Project Coordinator to schedule required staff training, assisting with development of TORs and engagement of trainers
    • Supporting the PCCCRR Project Coordinator to implement appropriate M&E activities
    • Support to fulfil media and other stakeholder engagement opportunities as per the PCCCRR proposal
    • Support to implement activities as planned under the VCPP
Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated successful project management experience with community projects in Vanuatu including:
  1. experience in preparing and reviewing output and outcome reporting,
  2. interpreting budgets, following financial procedures, and working within a budget
  3. proven skills in program scheduling, and ability to implement according to a schedule
  4. strong stakeholder engagement skills, with excellent relational skills, ability to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with designing and carrying out training of local staff
  • Demonstrated experience designing and carrying out both qualitative and quantitative Monitoring and Evaluation plans
  • Experience sourcing and managing local service providers
  • Ability to motivate staff and meet tight deadlines

Desirable Criteria:
  • Small Grants experience
  • Tertiary qualification in a related field are desirable but not essential
  • Experience in community based programs addressing climate change adaptation
  • Experience in a community based approaches to risk resilience programs

Language:   English with knowledge of Bislama an advantage
