| Job Description: |
| Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Team Leader - Pacific Risk Resilience Program (Component 2) based in Live & Learn Regional Office, Suva, Fiji, the local Level Coordinator directly supports the management and effective implementation of the Pacific Risk Reduction Programme (component 2) for Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu. |
| At least 5 years of relevant experience at community or local level in disaster risk management and climate change adaptation, working knowledge of country’s community and local governance structures, knowledge and understanding of socio-economics, political and demographic situation of the country. |
| General Terms and Conditions of Employment are according to Live & Learn standard employment contract which are based on the Labour Relations Act of Vanuatu. Details for: annual/sick leave, leave passage, housing allowance etc. Are included in the employment contract; |
| ● Identify existing and potential change agents and capacity development required by each change agent at both community, schools and local government level; |
| ● Implement the monitoring and evaluation framework; |
| ● Coordinate and facilitate the establishment of local forums for consultation between community, local level government and NGOs on risk resilience; |
| A tertiary qualification in a relevant area, preferably at Masters level in Geography, Environment, Development Studies, Disaster Management or related field. |
| Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages Corporate Responsibility & teamwork; People Skills; Partnering & Networking; Results-Orientation; Innovation & Judgment; Communication; Job Knowledge and Expertise. |
