| The Australia-Pacific Technical College (APTC) has been delivering Australian qualifications in vocational training in the Pacific for over six years and is looking for experienced, motivated and suitably qualified Pacific island nationals to join our delivery team. |

| The APTC is an Australian Government aid and development program and has been established to deliver a range of qualifications from Certificate III to Diploma. The technical college is a centre of training excellence aimed at skilling and qualifying Pacific Islanders for a range of vocational occupations in demand across the Pacific including, but not limited to, health and community |
| services, hospitality and tourism, automotive trades, manufacturing, construction and electrical trades. The objective of this position is to provide support to APTC students in Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills (LLN). This role will include development and delivery of integrated tailored support to enhance students’ learning and to complement work done by APTC trainer |

| Duties and responsibilities: |
| 1) Provide holistic learning support, together with the vocational teaching team, to students with an emphasis on relevant vocational literacy |
| 2) Assist trainers and tutors to integrate the development of the core LLN skills to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) level required by the training package into the delivery program, and work as part of the team delivering the program. |
| 3) Provide professional development to trainers and others in relation to LLN for Pacific Island students. |

| Qualifications and Experience - Applicants must: |
| Criteria: |
| - Have recognised teaching qualification which includes study in Language, Literacy and Numeracy, English as a Second Language or English OR a degree with at least two years study in linguistics, communication, ESL |
| or literacy and numeracy |
| - Have recent relevant teaching experience delivering English language or Language, Literacy and Numeracy; Have demonstrated experience in supporting the learning of students with different cultural backgrounds |
| and abilities |
| - Have demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate learning outcomes for students; Have experience with Microsoft Office programmes (including Microsoft Word and |
| Outlook) and experience in the use of the internet |
