| The Vanuatu Women's Centre (VWC) is a well-established organisation organisation, empowering women and girls through the provision of counselling and advocacy services, community awareness, legal literacy and training, and research activities throughout Vanuatu. VWC has branches that reach out into the remote areas in the provinces of SANMA, TORBA and TAFEA. The VWC is |
| grounded in the principles of women's human rights and is currently looking for a dynamic and committed person to join the team. |
| |
| Key Responsibilities: |
| 1) Assist the VWC coordinator in the overall administration of the centre |
| 2) Assist the organising and reporting on management committee meetings, annual public meetings, national conferences, training, program coordination committee meetings, and staff collective meetings, and maintain records and minutes from these and other activities |
| 3) Assist the coordinator with recruitment, staff performance appraisals, and other human resource management activities |
| 4) Organise in-house training for staff, branches and CAVAWs, and the development and monitoring of learning objectives for VWC and branch staff and CAVAWs, in consultation with the coordinator |
| 5) Assist the coordinator in the supervision and management of VWC branches including financial management, staff appointments, staff appraisal and training |
| 6) Ensure CAVAW and branch attachments are planned with activities scheduled for each attachment, in cooperation with the community educator and counselling supervisor |
| 7) Work with the community educator and coordinator to organise and facilitate CAVAW training in vila and in the islands (CAVAW training visits) |
| 8) Manage VWC's assets and equipment and ensure these are kept in good working order |
| 9) Oversight of financial administration and supervision of the finance/administration officer |
| 10) Assist with the preparation of reports. |

| Key attributes: |
| Criteria: |
| - Degree in an appropriate area is desirable; Commitment and sensitivity to issues if violence against women and girls |
| - Proven experience in management, administration and human resource management is necessary; Experience or qualifications in accounting is highly desirable |
| - Demonstrate competence in computer applications (word and excel essential) Ability to work with diverse groups of people |
| - Fluency in English and Bislama; Demonstrate good communication skills, both oral and written |
| - Resourceful, ability to work with minimum supervision, and ability to work as part of a team. |
