| We are currently seeking suitable candidates for the following position for our Port Vila office. |
| |
| The overall goal of the Save the Children Vanuatu Education Program is to support children and young people in Vanuatu to learn the skills and knowledge they need to thrive and meet their potential. |
| |
| The Climate Change Education & Training Officer will: |
| 1) Support the planning and implementation of Climate Change Adaptation activities including children and young people involved in youth clubs community based settings |
| 2) Work closely with the Vanuatu Climate Change Adaptation Network (VCCAN), Ministry of Education, Provincial Education Officers and Save the Children youth outreach staff to develop IEC materials and deliver education and training programs that build awareness and capacity for children and young people to adapt to climate change. |
| Interested applicant must possess the following: |
| Criteria: |
| - Experience facilitating and delivering training and professional development, and an understanding of the theory of adult learning; Have experience in planning organizing training activities and an |
| understanding of training design and development |
| - Hold a qualification in a relevant discipline (education, development studies, or social sciences); Have prior experience working in the Pacific |
| - Display highly developed verbal and written communication skills, fluency in spoken English language, pidgin and or French language skills are highly desirable |
| - Display highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in complex/multi-cultural environments |
| - Have strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to plan and coordinate people and logistics; Demonstrate commitment to Save the Children Australia's purpose and values; Be |
| willing to travel exensively within Vanuatu. |
