| The overall goal of the Save the Children Vanuatu Education Program is to support children and young people in Vanuatu to learn the skills and knowledge they need to thrive and meet their potential. |
| The Education program is working towards strategic outcomes for basic education, education in emergencies, early childhood education and education for youth empowerment. |
| Schools and informal learning situations supported by Save the Children are Quality Learning Environments (QLEs) |
| Children and youth at risk of, or affected by, emergencies have access to quality education as a fundamental part of all humanitarian responses. |
| Increased number of young children have access to quality early childhood care and development programs that ensure their rights to survival, health and education. |
| Increased opportunities for young people to become active economic, social and political citizens through EYE initiatives. |

| The Project Manager, School Community Disaster Management will: |
| 1) Plan, coordinate and oversee implementation of a DipECHO funded Education Sector Disaster Management for School Community Disaster Management Project |
| 2) Work closely with the Ministry of Education, NDMO and stakeholders from the Vanuatu Humanitarian Team (VHT) to develop and deliver education and training programs that build awareness and capacity for school disaster management at national, provincial and local levels to support community risk reduction, preparedness and resilience. |
| Interested applicant must possess the following requirements: |
| Criteria: |
| - Have 3 – 7 years of experience in successfully managing projects; Have proven experience in monitoring and reporting project activities for donor funded contracts with partners in international |
| - Have experience liaising with a range of external partners and key stakeholders including children, parents, teachers, local and national Government agencies |
| - Hold a University degree in a relevant discipline; Hold a Post-graduate qualification in management or project management |
| Be able to work in challenging and sometimes insecure environments |
| - Demonstrate commitment to Save the Children Australia’s purpose and values |
| - Be willing to travel extensively within Vanuatu. |
