| The Pacific Forum Education Ministers’ have raised the issue of quality education in the region and have acknowledged the role of the school principals as agents to fostering quality education in schools. In 2009 the Ministers have asked the developing partners to develop a set of professional standards to guide the day to day work of school |
| principals throughout the Pacific. |

| The Pacific Professional Standard for School Principals (PPSSP) was therefore established. |
| Interested applicants should submit the following documents; Expression of interest not exceeding one page, clearly stating suitability for the position and a Curriculum Vitae; Please supply names of two referees with email and phone contacts with this application. |

| The Ministry of Education in partnership with UNECSO is seeking a Consultant to undertake the following; |
| 1) To provide a set of performance standards, including performance indicators and benchmarking for school principals in Vanuatu, to be developed in consultation with MOE officials |
| 2) To develop a strategy for implementing the standards and an instrument (including performance indicators and benchmarking ) that is suitable for use in monitoring how principals are able to use NPSSL to improve the quality of their schools and performance |
| 3) To plan and facilitate a capacity development workshop (5 day) before 30th June 2013 in collaboration with UNESCO and MOE in Vanuatu and present a workshop programme |
| 4) To provide a report after the completion of the workshop detailing the programme and incorporating the changes to the performance standards and indicators as suggested in the workplace to the Performance Standards for Principals. |
| The prospective candidate is expected to have the following profile: |
| Criteria: |
| - Master’s or postgraduate degree in Education or in a directly related field |
| - At least 7 years of professional experience in a similar field including several years at the international level |
| - Extensive knowledge of and exposure to work in the field of developing standards is a requirement |
| - Professional experience of working with Ni-Vanuatu’s is highly desirable. |
