| The Vanuatu Red Cross Society, working jointly with the support of the French Red Cross, is seeking applications from dynamic and highly motivated persons to immediately fill up the following position as part of its VRCS management team. | Job location, VRCS headquarter in Vila with frequent travels to Torba and Tafea. |
| Duties and responsibilities: |
| 1) The Disaster Risk Reduction Program Assistant will support the Disaster risk Reduction Coordinator to implement the result 2 of the “Together Becoming Resilient Project” which states “communities and schools have raised their awareness on disaster risk reduction” |
| 2) He/ She will work in close coordination with all the Disaster Risk Reduction stakeholders at the national level to put in place standardized Information Education and Communication (IEC) tools for awareness purposes at the community level and in schools |
| 3) He/ She will ensure that the activities of the project result 2 are implemented according to its timeframe and budget. |
| Interested applicant must possess the following: |
| Criteria: |
| - At least three years proven experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of EIC programmes; Skills in audience analysis and strategic communication; Interest in sharing |
| professional skills as well as learning from others; Ability to network with the media and other disaster risk reduction (DRR) stakeholders |
| - Excellent computer skills (Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Ability to speak and write effectively and compellingly in english and bislama; Skills in documenting information and packaging |
| it for wider sharing with other DRR partners; Knowledge of the Vanuatu context, in particular of Torba and Tafea provinces; Skills in training and awareness |
| - Team management, training and facilitation skills; Knowledge of bislama required, english and/or french preferred; Driving licence required; Open-minded, dynamic and flexible; Knowledge of Red |
| Cross movement will be an asset. |
