| Duties and responsibilities: |
| 1) To implement and manage the Save the Children Vanuatu’s emergency response, disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaption (CCA) and education in emergencies (EIE) programs |
| 2) Responsible for developing, managing and evaluating both current and new initiatives that will improve national and provincial capacity to prepare for and respond to the needs of children in emergencies in Vanuatu |
| 3) Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of a high quality programs, accountability mechanisms and impact measurement systems. |
| Interested applicant must possess the following: |
| Criteria: |
| - Demonstrated experience in the successful implementation and management of disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptations, and/or emergency education programs in challenging contexts; |
| Demonstrated experience of designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating emergencies programs for international NGO’s, UN agencies or Government; Proven experience of clear proposal and |
| report writing and documentation |
| - Budget development and financial monitoring skills; Highly developed relationship building & interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people; Experience of applying |
| relevant interagency humanitarian frameworks and standards in emergency programs (for example INEE minimum standards) |
| - Knowledge of humanitarian actors, context and principals; Substantial people and program management experience, including the proven ability to be part of and organise, support, manage and |
| develop a small team; Knowledge of bislama language and a working understanding of pacific context highly desirable. |
