| | The Ministry of Justice and Community Services wishes to recruit an experienced person for the position of Child Protection Office. The successful candidates will be expected to assist the Child Desk Officer to implement planned programs for Child Protection and Welfare in Vanuatu. | | community services and the department of women’s affairs office. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Undertake the overall responsibility of Child Protection activities in the MojSW with focus on social welfare systems as strategy for prevention and intervention for victims of abuse, exploitation and violence |
| | 2) Coordinate the Child Protection Welfare systems activities |
| | 3) Coordinate and provide assistance with finalizing the report on the mapping of the welfare and social service providers |
| | 4) Act as the secretariat for the national child protection working group (NCPWG). |
| | Interested applicant must possess the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Advanced tertiary education in the social sciences or a related field; Experience in child protections and with working with UNICEF will be an advantage; Demonstrated ability to deliver quality reported within |
| | given time periods; Capacity to support a rights based approach to development work; Successful experience in producing publications |
| | - Extensive experience in conducting training programs and awareness raising activities; High value and respect for children and young people; Knowledge of human rights instruments, including the convention |
| | on the rights of the child is desirable |
| | - Other skills and attributes. |
