| Peace Corps Vanuatu wishes to recruit two qualified Ni-Vanuatu professionals as Programming and Training Assistants (PTA). The PTAs will be assigned to work with our Program Managers (one for Community Health and one for Education) and will be responsible for all aspects of Volunteer support and management under the guidance of the Program Managers and the |
| Programming and Training Officer. The candidates selected for these positions will be expected to travel to rural and remote villages visiting Volunteers and developing new sites. PTAs are required to teach Bislama and culture during an 8 week village-based pre-service training conducted each year beginning in September. |

| PTA tasks include: |
| - Development and facilitation of technical training |
| - Volunteer site and assignment development |
| - Nurturing of host agency relations and coordination |
| - Technical Support of Volunteer activities |
| - Project plan design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. |

| A qualified candidate for this position must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and attitudes below: |
| Criteria: |
| - A well developed understanding of sound and sustainable development theory and real world application. This must be demonstrated and made evident in previous work experience and documented |
| accomplishment; Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Bislama. French fluency is a plus; |
| - Effective interpersonal communication, including listening and feedback skills, suitable for facilitating productive dialogue with development partners and team-building among staff and Volunteers; |
| - Proven experience in problem solving, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines for time critical issues; Ability and flexibility so travel regularly to support volunteers and develop assignments for |
| Volunteers at communities and institutions typically located in rural Vanuatu; |
| - Strong writing skills particularly suited for she preparation and writing of monitoring and evaluation reports and project planning documents; Demonstrated capability to design and deliver adult training; |
| - Proven initiative and resourcefulness and the capacity to work with minimal direction while exercising good judgment, maturity and flexibility; High level of computer literacy including previous experience |
| with Microsoft Word, Excel. Experience with Outlook Mail is desirable. |
