| | The ombudsman invites applications for the public service post No.0910 for senior investigator/language rights officer. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Under the delegation of the ombudsman the person is to be the ombudsman’s legal advisor and to represent the ombudsman in litigation |
| | 2) Conduct investigations into alleged breached of language rights pursuant to article 64 (2) of the constitution |
| | 3) Provision to prepare special reports on the observance of multilingualism in Vanuatu |
| | 4) Provision to translate all official documents which includes all ombudsman public and annual report into 3 official languages |
| | 5) Performs investigative duties. |
| | Interested applicant must have the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - University degree/diploma or equivalent; Has at least 2 years experience in investigations; Computer literate; Good reporting writing and communication skills; Has a good knowledge of the official languages; |
| | Is able to translate into any of the official languages |
| | - Has a good ability to write letters, submissions and preparation of reports; Good command of english, french and bislama; Good character. |

| | The salary will be based on the public service salary scale at OS4.0 or 1, 411, 200 per annum. |
