| | Do you have a passion for working with youth? Do you have excellent communication & public speaking skills? Youth challenge vanuatu is looking to fill the position of youth employment rights coordinator (YERC) to fill an 18 month contract position starting September 6th, 2010. The YERC is based in the YCV office in port vila, vanuatu and is part of the employment team |
| | at YCV under the supervision of the employment programs manager. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) Working with artists, YCV staff, and other community business stakeholders to develop booklets and posters to raise the awareness of youth about their rights and responsibilities in the workplace |
| | 2) Establishes, manages, monitors and evaluates partnerships with local communities and relevant labor, employment, and youth stakeholders |
| | 3) Prepares and facilitates two seminars on employee rights in vanuatu |
| | 4) Prepares monthly progress reports, seminar reports and monitoring and evaluation reports. |
| | Interested applicant must have the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - Passionate about youth work; Enthusiastic, willing to learn; Knowledgeable about employee rights in Vanuatu and passionate about promoting employee rights; Dependable, reliable, honest and sincere |
| | about helping others; Good typing and report writing skills; Flexibility to travel throughout the islands and stay in communities for up to a week at a time |
| | - Good verbal and written language skills in bislama and english; Good communication and social skills and ability to work and interact with a variety of people (i.e. government officials, youth, funding |
| | agencies, etc…); Good communication and social skills and ability to work and interact with a variety of people (i.e. government officials, youth, funding agencies, etc…) |
| | - Good team worker, but still comfortable and able to work independently; High school diploma, post-secondary training preferred. |
