| | 1) Reporting directly to the chief executive officer (URA) |
| | 2) Responsible for regulating the utilities from the standpoint of technical considerations |
| | 3) Monitoring and evaluating the technical performance of water and electricity utilities |
| | 4) Providing advice to the government of Vanuatu as required |
| | Interested applicant must have the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - A bachelors degree or higher in electrical or civil engineering is preferred but persons with academic qualifications in other engineering disciplines may be considered; Thorough understanding of all major |
| | aspects of the technical operations of power and water utilities; Intimate familiarity with financial and economic evaluation of investment projects |
| | - Good understanding of the principles and practice of utility regulation including tariff determination; Thorough familiarity with the use of the computer as an analytical tool; Superior report-writing skills; |
| | Ability to prepare and present information clearly and concisely orally and in writing |
| | - Previous work experience in a supervisory position, administering technical operations in a business or utility; Prior employment in an electric or water utility would be advantageous. |
