| | The government of growth (GfG) program is a joint initiative of the government of vanuatu and australia which aims to support the vanuatu government in addressing obstacles to economic growth and services delivery. | | GfG program, the government’s energy unit is developing an investment program, known as the vanuatu energy for rural development (VERD) program which aims to expend access to power to rural areas of vanuatu. The position is a 70 days contract position based in port vila, with an anticipated commencement date in july 2010. Duties and responsibilities: |
| | 1) The consultant will report jointly to the government of vanuatu and AusAID through the principal energy officer, energy unit and the access power project coordinator. |
| | Interested applicant must have the following requirements: |
| | Criteria: |
| | - At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in undertaking financial and economic evaluation of investment projects; Experience in working on investment projects for implementation in the pacific countries |
| | id preferred; Experience in developing institutional and financing frameworks for implementation of a project/program; Extensive experience in developing project proposals for funding, in particular |
| | development of the financial model and budget |
| | - Strong analytical skills, including ability to do financial modeling incorporating sensitivity analysis; Demonstrated ability to deliver solid results in a timely manner, either alone or as part of a multi-cultural, |
| | multi disciplinary team; Demonstrated experience in rural development work is desirable; Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English, bislama and french is an advantage. |
