| Peace Corps Vanuatu wishes to recruit a qualified Ni- Vanuatu professional as a Programming and Training Assistant (PTA). The PTA will be assigned to work with our Programming and Training Officer (PTO) and will be responsible for all aspects of Volunteer support and management under the guidance of the PTO. The candidate selected for this position will be |
| expected to travel to rural and remote villages, visiting Volunteers and developing new sites. The PTA will be required to teach Bislama and culture during an eight week village base pre-service training conducted each year, beginning in September. We are looking for bright and energetic candidates that are willing to learn and grow while contributing to the |
| development of Vanuatu. Rules and responsibilities: |
| 1) Development and facilitation of technical training |
| 2) Volunteer site and assignment development |
| 3) Nurturing of host agency relations and coordination |
| 4) Technical support of Volunteer activities |
| 5) Project plan design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. |
| Interested applicant must have the following requirements: |
| Criteria: |
| - A well developed understanding of sound and sustainable development theory and real world application; Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Bislama, French is a plus; Effective |
| interpersonal communication; Listening and feedback skills; Suitable for facilitating productive dialogue with senior officials of development partners and team-building among staff and Volunteers |
| - Proven experience in problem solving managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines for time critical issues; Strong writing skills regularly to support volunteers and develop assignment for volunteers at |
| communities and institution typically located in rural communities in Vanuatu; Demonstrate capacity to design and deliver adult training |
| - Proven initiative and resourcefulness; Capacity to work with minimal direction while exercising good judgment, maturity and flexibility; High level of computer literacy including previous experience with MS |
| word, MS excel, MS publisher and experience with outlook mail is desirable. |
