| | Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vanuatu is looking for two consultants experts in economic and agronomy to conduct a market study on the identification of agricultural industries importing / exporting and services offering great potential for developing trade between Vanuatu and New Caledonia. |
| | Their Study will be: |
| | 1. From an update on the situation of trade in agricultural products between Vanuatu and New Caledonia, particularly for key export sectors of Vanuatu to New Caledonia (Kava, beef, fruits and vegetables and spices). |
| | 2. To examine the barriers and obstacles to this trade: constraints regulating the market in New Caledonia, phyto-sanitary standards, product quality, fiscal/custom issues economic factors (cost and availability of transport…) |
| | 3. Consider whether to develop new courses/products for export from Vanuatu to New Caledonia (eg. Lemon…) or New Caledonia to Vanuatu (example: deer meat…) |
| | 4. Develop specific recommendations f for: |
| | Remove or reduce constraints to trade in, connection with actors in Vanuatu or New Caledonia (private and institutional); Promote the development of exports of existing channel and new channels |
| | Promote the availability of support services to Vanuatu agriculture mobilizing capacity of New Caledonia. |
| | The study will be drafted in French; a synthetic summary will be prepared in two languages (French and English). The call for applications of one or more consultants will be made on the basis of a limited consultation and the duration of the project will be less than 4 months, including workshops, restitution/validation. |
| | Criteria: |
| | - The consultant(s) should possess one or more graduate degrees in relation to the subject matter (economy and international trade, agricultural economics, agricultural industries, support services to |
| | agriculture, development and cooperation). |
| | - The consultant(s) will prove necessary skills and significant experience in the analysis and development projects, economic analysis, international trade, export promotion, analysis of networks and |
| | agricultural services. Experience in the formulation of proposals/development operations and economic cooperation would be appreciated; A team combining the complementary expertise of an economist |
| | and agriculturalist may be desirable. |
